Maybe the second Grieg Lyric piece I discovered when I was a child? I'm quite sure I had a recording of Phillip Entremont playing this. A rare moment for me, that I remember listening to this piece many times when I was younger, but I don't remember it musically at all beyond the first few chords! It feels like a pianistically simplified Liszt Water Piece, and I'm sure Franz jumped for joy when he heard that penultimate chord 😂

I think Mussorgsky was inspired from the begining part of Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto In E Minor", reducing the tempo. I listened recent and for the first time this Mendelssohn Concerto and the first part seemed so familiar. Where it is from??? I finally remembered: Mussorgsky - Pictures...!!! I have the vinyl and I found!!! THE OLD CASTLE!!! I listened again and again, one and another. I'm not an expert, but for me was inspiration, theft or coincidence.

Why do you play more than four notes per bar with the left hand during the first section? What in the score tells to play more than the four sixteenth notes? I’m fairly new to sight reading so maybe I’m misunderstanding the score.
